Glass Fusing: classes Share

Fused & Slumped Glass Trays In this 3 hour workshop you'll design & create a 7" square tray by cutting & layering flat glass pieces. You'll load your assembled tray into our kiln where it will be fused to over 1,400 degrees. A second firing will later be done by us to slump your piece into the formed mold you choose. An abundance of unique glass materials made in the glassblowing studio will be supplied. Pieces are ready one week later. Please arrive on time, glass cutting & use of all tools will be taught in the first half hour. Read scheduling policy at bottom of page. Fee: $85. Class date & time: TBD, held in Summer

Fused Tiles / Suncatchers In this 1 hour workshop you'll create a colorful 4" tile or hanging glass suncatcher from flat shapes of glass that you design & assemble. Afterward, we'll fire it to 1400 degrees in our kiln to fuse your design together. An ideal activity for kids and adults alike. An abundance of unique glass materials made in the glassblowing studio will be supplied. Pieces are ready one week later. Please arrive on time, use of tools will be taught first. Fused & Slumped Soap Dishes / Business Card Trays In this 2 hour workshop you'll design & create a 5"x 3" tray by cutting & layering flat glass pieces. You'll load your assembled tray into our kiln where it will be fused to over 1,400 degrees. A second firing will later be done by us to slump your piece into the formed mold which works as either a soap dish or a business card holder. An abundance of unique glass materials made in the glassblowing studio will be supplied. Pieces are ready one week later. The Art of Fused Glass Jewelry In this 3 hour workshop you'll learn fusing techniques and create an array of glass jewelry components such as pendants, earrings, bracelets, rings, and pins. Afterward, we'll fuse your work in our kiln. Pieces will be ready several days later. Methods of attachment and sources for findings to hang your work from will be explained. An abundance of unique glass materials will be supplied, dichroic (metallic) glass is also available for an additional charge. Please arrive on time, glass cutting & use of all tools will be taught in the first half hour. Enrollment limited to 12 students. Read scheduling policy at bottom of page. Fee: $130. Scheduling policy: Registrations are final & non-refundable. If you are unable to attend you may send someone in your place.
